Die Konzertreihe „Träumen unter Bäumen“ ist eine Initiative von Bewohner*innen aus Spandau in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Komma Klub e.V.. Die verbleibenden 20% müssen wir über Spenden finanzieren – wir freuen uns über jede Unterstützung.

SJS ist keine gewöhnliche Band, im Gegenteil: Es handelt sich um eine Band, die extra für die Konzertreihe „Träumen unter Bäumen“ kreiert wurde, und der die Ehre zuteil wird, diese Saison der dezentralen Kulturspektakel als erste von 5 Bands/Künstler*innen zu eröffnen.

Zu diesem Anlass hat sich der 4-Köpfige Jazz Schimpanse ein ausgefeiltes Programm an Stücken einfallen lassen. Zu Ohren kommen dem geneigten Publikum Highlights eines besonderen Momentes der Musikgeschichte, nämlich Dem Moment in den 1960er Jahren in dem sich der sogenannte Hardbop weiterentwickelte, verwandelte und etwas gänzlich neues, energetisches und wildes hervorbrachte: es war die Geburtsstunde des Funk.

Musik von zwei Geschwistern – eine besondere Chemie mit einer tiefen Verbundenheit, die man in ihrer Musik hören und spüren kann.
Ihr Sound verbindet E-Gitarre und Gesang mit Spoken Word, Rap und kraftvollen Rhythmenund ist von Jazz, Hip-Hop, Neo Soul und elektronischer Musik inspiriert. Gemeinsam kreieren die beiden Multiinstrumentalisten einen satten und vollen Sound auf kleinen und großen Bühnen.

Das Duo Zuza Jasinska und Robin Danaher ist ein dynamisches Duo, mit dem Fokus auf Zusammenklang von Gesang und akustischer Gitarre und mit einem warmen, introspektiven, folkigen Sound. Beide Bandmitglieder steuern Eigenkompositionen und Texte zu Storm Dog bei, mit dem Ziel, ihre Liebe zu einfachen Folk-Melodien, farbenfrohen Harmonien und Storytelling vermitteln. Das Duo hat Anfang 2024 “Steps on the Road” veröffentlicht und plant, sich ins Studio zu begeben, um sein weiteres Schaffen zu dokumentieren. Storm Dog Auftritte sind fröhlich und intim, mit Liedern auf Polnisch und Englisch.

Humblo nimmt seine Zuhörenden mit auf eine musikalische Reise, bei der jeder Klang ein neuer Gedanke ist und jede Melodie eine Geschichte erzählt. Geprägt von detailreichen Kompositionen und groovigen Grotesken, verbindet das Trio unterschiedlichste musikalische Welten zu einem einzigartigen Klangbild.

Die Geschichte beginnt mit Jacky Bastek – virtuose Fingerstyle-Gitarristin und Songwriterin. Nach fünf Jahren Soloauftritten und dem Aufbau eines internationalen Rufs begab sie sich auf die Suche nach musikalischen Mitstreitern.

Wandernde Musik, verwurzelte Lieder. Ein Clown wird zur Hexe, Wiegenlieder werden zu Gebeten, Gedichte zu Rap, Blues flirtet mit der Oper. Mit Texten, die sowohl intim als auch politisch, poetisch und scharf sind, entführt uns Sura in ihre Welt. Eine Welt, in der Sanftheit und Liebe eine heftige und engagierte Wahl sind. Das Publikum kann nicht passiv und still sein, es wird zum Chor, zu Kreaturen, Zeugen, zur Familie. In einem Augenblick erwärmt sich die Luft, und wo immer das Konzert stattfindet, wird es zu einem Kreis, einem Ritual. Wir gehen kraftvoller und liebevoller daraus hervor und sind bereit, „Hoffnung ansteckend zu machen“.

The concert series “Dreaming under Trees” is an initiative of residents from Spandau in cooperation with the Komma Klub e.V.. We have to finance the remaining 20% through donations – we are happy about any support.

Spanse Jazz Schimpanse is no ordinary band, on the contrary: it is a band that was created especially for the ‘Träumen unter Bäumen’ concert series and has the honour of being the first of five bands/artists to open this season of decentralised cultural spectacles taking place in Spandau. 

To mark the occasion, the 4-piece Jazz Chimpanzee has come up with a finely honed programme of pieces. The audience will hear highlights from a special moment in music history, namely the moment in the 1960s when so-called hard bop evolved, transformed and brought forth something completely new, energetic and wild: it was the birth of funk.

LYKA, a sibling duo creating intense, dreamy Neo Soul music that resonates with honest and approachable lyrics. Our soundscapes blend the electric guitar and voice in a captivating interplay, enriched by powerful rhythms, spoken word, and rap vocals. With a deep understanding of one another, we craft a unique style that draws inspiration from jazz, hip-hop, soul, and electronic music—sometimes vulnerable, sometimes raw and edgy, but always heartfelt.

The duo Zuza Jasinska and Robin Danaher are dynamic, centered on vocal blending with acoustic guitar, in the warm, introspective, folky realm. Both contribute original compositions and lyrics to Storm Dog, with the aim of conveying a love of simple folk melody, colorful harmonies, and story-telling. The band released Steps on the Road in early 2024 and has plans to get themselves into the studio to document their other work to date. Our gigs are joyful and intimate, with songs in Polish and English.

An encounter with Humblo, a leap into a story.
Humblo takes its listeners on a musical journey where each sound is a new thought, and each melody tells a story. The trio, defined by intricate compositions and groovy grotesques, merges diverse musical worlds to create a unique sound. 

The story of Humblo begins with the virtuosic Fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter Jacky Bastek. After five years of solo performances and building an international reputation, she sought out new musical allies. Her search led her to Jazz musicians Yannik Tiemann and Felix Ambach, with whom she developed an original and captivating band sound that preserves the intimacy of her songs while exploring new sonic dimensions. Recently the trio has additionally been playing with Banjo-player and vocalist Julia Zech adding a new sound scape that reflects on the more dense nature of their new album.

Their arrangements feature a vibrant, dynamic interplay – Jacky’s virtuosic guitar playing at the core, often feeling like an organic extension of the instrument itself. With a mix of improvisation and finely crafted compositions, Humblo leaves a lasting impression with their young but already impactful musical journey. 

Wandering music, rooted songs. A clown becomes a witch, lullabies turn into prayers, poems into rap, blues flirts with opera. With lyrics both intimate & political, poetic and sharp, Sura carries us away into their world — a world where softness & love is a fierce & committed choice. The audience cannot be passive & silent; they become a choir, creatures, witnesses, family. In an instant, the ambient air heats up, & wherever the concert takes place, it becomes a circle, a ritual. We emerge more powerful, more loving, ready to “make hope contagious“. (#ALOKVMENON)
